I'm sooooooo interested in this; I could lend you a licence for the purpose if required.

I am working on it (and have been). The reason it takes a bit longer is that the code that I use allows for not only a single hack, but multiple generations of hacks that support multiple scripts of multiple versions.

Sure. It's reassuring to know that you're working on it as I know it'll make my life so much easier (i.e. I can concentrate on getting e107 looking right instead of having to sort integration between IPB/e107 which I just don't have time to do).

Thanks for the update Patiek.

Currently I am working on "life".

I plan to be finished with "life" in about 2 weeks. Then I can get back to this.

I don't know why you're wasting your time with that! It'll only slow you down and possibly even get you down :P

Seriously though, I don't personally mind how long it takes you to get this done as I appreciate it isn't a small task and is very much a (so-called) "spare" time project.

However, I think what everyone interested in this is eager to know is the approximate timescale for its completion.

Now I know that this is a pointless question (from experience with e107 and IPB, as neither sets of developers will give indications as to release dates). Despite that, I'd be very grateful if you could say when you currently hope/expect to be able to complete this by (e.g. before the end of June?).

PS I don't think it will make any major difference to your work, but IPB 2.1 is going to be hitting beta soon. AFAIK, they're using the same database structure - certainly for the login stuff as the converge system is still very new and not quite fully implemented as it is.

Any progress? I have been looking for this forever! My friend asked about it and I told him that there is a hack, but I found out its only for 1.3. We need 2.x.x.x. How long will this take?

IPB 2.1 will allow you to work this much better anyway (see http://mattmecham.com) - there won't be a need for a hack as such - although maybe someone will need to write the module for it (if Matt doesn't).

There will always be the need for a hack as long as basic user functions are hard coded into CMS software. I wish the authors of such software would not insert such code and instead rely on self-contained (encapsulated) user modules entirely. They are just so much nicer and easier to work with.

What do ppl use for the install with,

a.) the absolute paths for Ipb 1.3.1?
b.) the absolute paths for e107?
c.) the absslute paths for the hax?

d.) are database prefixes important and where do i find them, or should i just use defaults?

e.) when in the install procedure the screen comes up with blank insertable text boxes what do you do???

I only ask because i have wreaked my site 2 times trying to get this to work...

I really could use this mod for IPB 2.0.4....you guys should mod it and sell it for like $5. I think you could make a couple hundred or thousand bucks.

If no one is willing to take the time to mod it i might try.

ANy update on your progress? Or is this never gonna happen?

At one point I was. I have heavy exams the next week and I will explore the new CMS scripts afterwards. If no decent mods / hacks exist that can replace this script's functionality I will release the newer version of it.
