Hi! Do you when will be the release of version 2.0? I'm looking forward for it :)

Also, is it possible to post as news individual posts from the forum? For example, if I see an interesting post, publish that as news. There may be interesting posts from various forums, and I want to post as news only those, instead of having a forum just for news.

I thought I responded to this a long time ago.

Version 2.0 was not out when you first posted... now it is ;).

As for specific posts, I could do it if you come up with something. Here is the problem:
The script really can't detect what is news and what is not news unless there is something in the database that designates it as so. Therefore you would have to, for example, put the some special tag in the title or in the post in order to designate it as news. The only problem is that then the script has to cycle through all of your posts just to find the news, a task that would take a extraordinary amount of time compared to the current script.

Another alternative would be to allow one to add in specific post ids via the control panel. This one is better as far as script speed goes, but quite a hassle to the webmaster or a site that has multiple staff members (as the control panel only has one user account).

If you have any ideas I would be happy to listen to them. :)

The first solution is not feasible, since as you say the script would consume great amounts of time.

I think the second option is much more useful, and indeed is what I was looking for. I have a forum called Announcements, and thats the forum for the news, but I also would like to post as news specific posts from other forums. Being able to add unique ids is what I need.

If you don't want to add this feature let me know and I'll try to do it :P.
