Does any one know the .IE setting

I am having real problems with this one everything else works fine
>IE uses whois.ripe.net checking for no match. is this right
all domains come back available at present on this tlds

Use the tools in the script to find out what the proper settings for a tld should be. Also, if you would have looked at the troubleshooting you would have found http://www.iana.org ... leading you to http://www.iana.org/root-whois/ie.htm with the whois server listed at the bottom of the page.

Hi Petiek, Having did what you suggested before you suggested it.
The link does not provide any info on my problem. I am getting available for
lookups with the ie registery. hence my question which is not answered by your suggestion. what keywords should be used. If you could try this and let me know if it works for you or if there is another reason I should be looking at

I don't think you did because you talked about using ripe instead of the whois server listed in the link.

Did you not use Nameserver Validator to see what the whois server is responding with?

Have you followed this procedure?
1. Use the whois server listed in the link (the one at the bottom of the page).
2. Use NS Validator to see what response you get from server.
3. Modify nameserver a second time to change the available / unavailable keywords.

And if you have, what problem are you having (at which step)? What response(s) are you getting from the nameserver according to the NS Validator? Did you try both known available and known unavailable domain names?

Once I got a second I used telnet to find what the nameserver returned. Essentially the NS Validator does what you can do by using telnet to connect to the server on port 43, but it also does more.

I confirmed that the server is indeed whois.domainregistry.ie and it uses the expected query format of:
[[DOMAIN]].[[EXT]]

I looked up an unavailable domain and the unavailable text is:

Not Registered

As I expected it all follows the basic defaults that are automatically filled in when you create a new nameserver in the script.
